Goncalo Amaral Day On 2 October, seven members and supporters of The Madeleine
Foundation held a day of action in London.
The highlight of the ‘Day of Action’ was a delegation of four
members and supporters handing in to 10 Downing Street a letter calling
for a full public enquiry into all aspects of the disappearance of
Madeleine McCann. This was backed by a public petition calling for the
same on the well-known ‘Care Petitions’ site. Permission was needed in
advance to deliver the letter in person to 10 Downing Street. We also
handed in similar letters at the Ministry of Justice and at the Home
Office. We visited the Portuguese Embassy as well where we handed in a
letter calling on the Portuguese government to hold an enquiry into the
unfair treatment of Mr Amaral by the Portuguese courts. To read the petition and sign please visit the home page of our
website, and click on the ‘Care Petitions’ icon, or go direct to ‘Care
Petitions’ at: You can read the letters here: http://www.madeleinefoundation.org.uk/GA%20DAY%202010.html Photographs from the day can be found on Facebook

The ban on Goncalo Amaral’s ‘The Truth About A Lie’ has been
lifted Seventeen
days after Goncalo Amaral day, a Portuguese newspaper, Diário de
Notícias,
reported that the Portuguese Court of Appeal had overturned the draconian
orders of two previous lower Portuguese courts, and has allowed Goncalo
Amaral once again to sell his book ‘The Truth About A
Lie’. The overturning of the ban on his book has received little or no
publicity via the British media. We continue to spread truthful and
favourable information to the British public about Mr Amaral by means of
our leaflet: “Your questions answered about Goncalo Amaral”. It’s
available free of charge from us, though donations towards the postage
costs would be gratefully accepted. If you wish to donate to Mr Amaral`s
fighting fund you can do by visiting the following site:

Christmas Lunch – Saturday 4 December 2010 We
have decided to hold our first-ever ‘Christmas lunch’ for members and
supporters on 4 December 2010.
We’ve
chosen a venue close to the M25 in Surrey which we hope will be convenient
for as many of you as possible. We
always love to meet new faces who share our objectives for the truth about
Madeleine McCann, so please let us know if you’d like to join us, and
we’ll send you further details. 6.
Petition
calling for a full public enquiry into the disappearance of Madeleine
McCann (see
also above under Goncalo Amaral Day) We are
supporting the recent petition of Alan-Marc Logoa, on the ‘Care Petitions’
site, which calls for a full public enquiry into all aspects of the
disappearance of Madeleine McCann. To date, it has nearly 400 signatures.
To add your name,
visit the home page of our website, www.madeleinefoundation.og.uk - then click on the Care Petitions icon near the top
of the page. Please also tell your friends and relatives about the
petition. 7.
The Madeleine Foundation’s new video: ‘48 Questions’ placed on
YouTube In our
last newsletter, we told you that one day after a Carter-Ruck letter was
sent to us, our video was pulled from YouTube. We presumed that this was
at the request of Carter-Ruck, though we could not be sure. Before it was
pulled, it attracted 2,000 views in under than 3 days.
Copies
of it are available elsewhere and others have produced other YouTube
videos where people can read for themselves the 48 questions that Dr Kate
McCann refused to answer. We
have successfully uploaded the 10-minute video of Tony reading out the 48
questions on to another video-sharing site, vimeo. You can
now view our video here: 8.
Correspondence with Carter-Ruck On 20th August 2010 we wrote to Carter Ruck, who proudly
boast that they are ‘Britain’s most feared libel lawyers’, telling them
that many of the problems faced by the McCanns stem from the many clear
contradictions in the witness statements of the McCanns and their ‘Tapas
9’ friends. There was no
reply from Carter-Ruck to this letter, or to several further letters
dealing with issues relating to the availability of our book ‘60 Reasons’
on ‘torrent’ and other internet sites. The only reply we received was a
confirmation that they still act for the McCanns. The correspondence can be viewed
here: Letter to Carter Ruck (20 August) asks the McCanns to set
the record straight on 16 key contradictions about the alleged
events on the day Madeleine was reported missing. Reply from Carter 6 October 2010

Madeleine Foundation on Facebook If you would like to keep up to date with the latest news and
events please join our new group at: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=125456310839432&v=wall Here you will also be able to join in some of the
topical discussions surrounding the disappearance of Madeleine
McCann. The Madeleine Foundation members and supporters are known
for being sceptical about the McCanns’ claim that Madeleine McCann was
abducted, so we welcome
like-minded people to join in the discussion. We encourage good
discussion and analysis of the facts of this case, but are careful not to
include direct accusations and anything that could be considered
defamatory of the McCanns or anyone else. On the Facebook group, we’ll
try to answer any questions that
you may have about the case, and we always welcome any suggestions. We loo
forward to some good future discussions with you about the
case. 10. New articles We’ve been busy adding quite a few new articles
to the website. Our latest is about the court
appearance of Kevin Halligen, the man to whom the McCanns paid £500,000,
allegedly to look for Madeleine. He was due to appear at Horseferry Road
Magistrates Court on 4 November. We produced a 2-page leaflet about
Halligen suggesting that it was about time that the McCanns, Clarence
Mitchell, Brian Kennedy and Kevin Halligen answered questions about where
all the money went. You’ll find the leaflet under ‘Articles’ on our
website. A
detailed article about now-deceased paedophile Raymond Hewlett can be
found on our site. This is a response to a truly appalling article in
The Sun which seriously tried to say that, in 2007, Hewlett had a
drinking succession with a member of a gipsy gang who claimed to know
where Madeleine was. The gipsy is alleged to have said that Madeleine was
stolen by a gipsy gang or a wealthy family somewhere. We examine in depth
how the McCann Team developed the ‘Madeleine-stolen-by-gipsies’ myth out
of nothing. There’s a direct link to our article here: http://t.co/eM3Qe2W Another fascinating
subject is the McCanns’ connection with the man, now dead, who was
supposedly the nation’s greatest ‘sex therapist’ and expert on how to
‘treat’ paedophiles. Our article: ‘Ray Wyre and the McCanns’ explores the
connection, again you’ll find it on our ‘Articles’ page. 11.
