HOME OFFICE REFUSES TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT CEOP

The Madeleine Foundation has at last received a reply from the Home Office to the further questions we asked of the Home Office about the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP for short). The questions were asked on 13 July 2010 and should have been answered within 20 working days i.e. by 10 August 2010. The Home Office's answer was sent to us on 30 December - over 20 weeks late.

The law allows - but does not require - governments to refuse to answer FOI Act questions if they relate to any body which 'deals with security matters'.

We are not content with the decision and we shall shortly be appealing the decision to the Information Commissioner.
